General Description

This position is located at the AST Li-SI-Wi-Nwi in Little Axe, Ok Community.  Under general supervision, this position performs responsible accounting support and administrative work in preparation, processing, maintenance and verification of accounting documents and records as they pertain to financial transactions.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Verifies, audits, edits, and prepares updated financial transactions.
  • Identifies and works with appropriate department(s) and/or supervisors to resolve discrepancies.
  • Enters data in the financial software system.
  • Reviews and reconciles transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness of posting.
  • Reviews, processes, inputs and, as approved code invoices and other accounts payable.
  • Reviews, processes, inputs and reconcile EFT and check deposits once those are posted on the financial software system; resolves deposit discrepancies.
  • Contacts vendors with questions and/or responds to vendor inquiries and concerns. 
  • Provides requested information as assigned, creates or generates related reports or schedules and locates and pull requested information for drafts or documentation.
  • Prepare and process credit card payments.
  • Review, audit and reconciles vendor monthly statements for accuracy and completeness.
  • Process accounts payable invoices and ensure timely payments for all Complete Care Home Health.
  • Assists and maintains accurate Complete Care Home Health financial reports, reconcile accounts, prepare journal entries, cash receipts and cash disbursement.
  • Other Duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree or 2 years’ experience as an accounting technician, staff accountant or equivalent.  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of methods, practices, documents and terminology used in financial and accounting record keeping; practices and procedures of basic governmental budgeting and accounting; fundamental accounting and internal control policies and procedures; standard office practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of the third party claims generation and accounts posting process.
  • Analytical experience in the Accounting field interpreting and applying Accounting principles, concepts, regulations and practices.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; ability to relate well with co-workers and the general public.
  • Ability to adjust to changing conditions.
  • Must be able to keep on schedule, set priorities and exercise sound judgment within established guidelines.
  • Must be able to operate a calculating machine and other standard office equipment.
  • Must be computer literate required (Windows operating systems – Microsoft Word, Excel). 
  • Must have a valid Oklahoma Driver’s License
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
