General Description

Responsibilities

• Provide non-emergency medical for eligible tribal members requiring transportation to and from their medical appointments.
• Complete and maintain travel logs, new daily transports/deliveries, and provide monthly statistical date for program reporting. Responsible for vehicle maintenance and upkeep.
• Works as a team with other Transportation staff.
• Complete basic assessment of patient’s environment to determine program eligibility.
• Drivers will keep in contact with dispatch by using cell phone that is provided. It is the responsibility of the drive to let dispatch know when a problem arises with picking up or dropping off patients.
• Also may be required to perform other related duties as requested.

Education Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.

• Must possess a valid Oklahoma driver’s license and be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
• Must be available to work flexible hours.
• Must be able to obtain CPR Certification.
• Must be able to follow instructions/directions and GPS.
• Must be willing to work under adverse conditions and varied hours, no set breaks or lunch times.
• Must be able to safely operate the vehicle provided by the AST Health System for transportation.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with peers and superiors.
• Be culturally sensitive to Native population and needs.
• Must be able to handle unpleasant customers and remain courteous and considerate during those times.
• Must be able to professionally relate and communicate effectively and efficiently with the public.
• Must be able to follow all instructions, written and oral.
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
