GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Under the supervision of the Director of the OVW Program, follow-up with requests made into the department that involve domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, sex trafficking and stalking and provide services to such victims/survivors to help ensure safety and well-being of those individuals. The Outreach Coordinator will also coordinate education, outreach and awareness activities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintains confidential records and statistical information for reporting and data gathering on each victim/survivor served.
Provides crisis intervention and case management to victims/survivors regarding their situation.
Ensure adequate records are kept to document service delivery and complete reports of data in line with reporting requirements.
Adhere to grants, reports and budget requirements, timelines and compliance.
Assist victims/survivors and their dependents locate and secure shelter, supportive services, and access to community-based programs for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence sex trafficking and stalking.
Assist victims/survivors with locating a shelter or boarding for their pets if needed.
Assists victims/survivors in knowing their rights about obtaining Protective Order and what to do when the Order is violated and attends court with client for domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, sex trafficking or stalking related court cases.
Provide emotional support, guidance and referrals to victims for services not available within the AST DV Department.
Transports victims/survivors and their children when available to help meet their emergency needs.
Maintains regular office hours for meeting with victims to make it easier for the victim to initiate criminal proceedings or receive assistance and serves on-call to provide emergency assistance that includes crisis intervention, shelter placement or other appropriate emergency assistance services.
Coordinate with and provide personal advocacy for survivors with police, hospitals, prosecutor’s office, DHS, the court system, landlords, etc., as needed.
Responsible for participation in special projects such as outreach awareness or education events, and presentations to the community and youth to inform about domestic, sexual assault, dating violence, sex trafficking, and stalking.
The employee will be on-call for emergencies as needed including, and may be required to work weekends and/or evenings.
In/Out of State Training as permitted by funding.
Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS to perform this job successfully, an individual must work well with persons of varied racial, ethnic, cultural, socioeconomic, sexual preference backgrounds and with individuals who are differently-abled and must be able to perform each primary duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Position may be filled with a (B. A.) from a four-year college or university with a major in social work or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as law enforcement reports, government or agency regulations and legal interpretations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and policy and procedure recommendations. Ability to speak effectively before individuals, public groups and employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts required to assist with budget management.
REASONING: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Assist families to resolve complex family situations.
Must possess a valid Oklahoma Driver's license.
Must be able to pass a background check.
