General Description
We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer with expertise in VMware, networking, firewalls, and disaster recovery. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of relevant experience and hold an MCSE certification (2016 - 2022). This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining our IT infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and security.
Responsibilities & Duties
Design and implement virtualized environments using VMware technologies to support organizational needs.
Manage, configure, and maintain firewalls and network infrastructure to ensure secure and reliable connectivity.
Develop and execute disaster recovery plans, conducting regular testing and updates to minimize downtime and data loss.
Collaborate with IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues efficiently.
Monitor system performance, perform tuning, and provide recommendations for improvements.
Document system configurations, procedures, and policies to ensure compliance and facilitate knowledge transfer.
Assist in planning and implementing system upgrades, migrations, and enhancements.
Provide technical support and guidance to team members and end-users as needed.
Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to systems engineering.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education Requirements and Qualifications
Education and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
5-10 years of hands-on experience as a Systems Engineer or in a similar role.
VMware Certified Professional (VCP).
Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) certification (2016 - 2022).
Experience in lieu of education may be considered on a year for year match.
Experience with other virtualization platforms and cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure).
Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for automation tasks.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong knowledge of firewall technologies and network security protocols.
Experience with disaster recovery planning and implementation.
Proficiency in virtualization technologies, specifically VMware.
Familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.) and network architecture.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Must have a valid Oklahoma Driver’s License.
Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, bend or kneel for long periods of time.
Prolonged sitting, standing, or walking; occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, and stooping; good finger dexterity and sensory perception; frequent repetitive motions; as well as talking, hearing, and visual acuity are required.
