The Absentee Shawnee Tribe is primarily located in the heart of central Oklahoma with approximately 4,661 members who live in all parts of the world as of December, 2023. Our tribal government complex is located in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Our logo features Tecumseh, a Shawnee warrior and visionary leader, who worked to unite tribes in a common homeland where Indians could live under their own laws and leaders. He died in October 1813, in battle near the area of present day Thamesville, in Toronto, Canada. The LI-SI-WI-NWI in our logo means “Among the Shawnee”

College Scholarship Entry Form
AllNations Bank is providing one (1) $500 scholarship to an AST high school senior. The bank’s president, Steve Smith, is providing one (1) $500 scholarship to an AST high school senior. These scholarships are to assist in furthering their education after high school. The information you provide below will be used to contact you regarding your entry. You will be notified if your name has been selected and we will schedule a time for you to take a photo to be placed in the AST Newsletter and on the Tribe’s media outlets. The scholarship check will be issued directly to the school the student attends.

The Executive Committee of the Absentee Shawnee Tribe of Indians of Oklahoma, in accordance with the Constitution, Article XVI, Section 3, “Executive Committee Meetings” here by calls and declares public notice that the REGULAR meeting of the Executive Committee of the Absentee Shawnee Tribe of Indians of Oklahoma has been scheduled for Wednesday, September 15th, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. at the Absentee Shawnee Tribal Complex in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
Free outdoor concert for 18+. This will be held outdoors in the front parking lot. Bring your chairs! Gates and food trucks open at 6:30 pm and AST Tribal member Nick Gibson is the opening act at 7:00 pm. Bellamy Brothers take the stage at 8:30 pm.
Absentee Shawnee Tribal Government Offices will move to Phase II Modified Operations starting Monday, August 30, 2021.
All departments will move to Split-Shift operations.
AST Complex will be open to Tribal members by appointment only, no other visitors will be allowed on campus. A 24-hour notice for an appointment will be required. Curb service or electronic service is encouraged. Masks are required.
